Student Administration System

The Student Administration System is used by the Student Financial Aid Office to display your financial aid status, request additional information from you and post your financial aid awards. You may accept and decline awards online.

Note: The Student Administration System User ID is a different ID from your NetID. It is comprised of 7 numbers and is distributed by the Undergraduate Admissions Office and found in your letter of admission.

Note: Account passwords for any student or University system are the property of the student and, as such, are not released to parents or third parties.


Sign in to the Student Administration System for the First Time

  1. Access go.uconn.edu.
  2. Locate the Login System box and click the StudentAdmin link.
  3. In the Student ID field, enter the 7-digit number provided to you by the Undergraduate Admissions Office.
  4. Enter your initial password, capital W followed by your birth date in the MMDDYY format and an exclamation point ( ! ).
  5. Click the Login button.

Change your Password

  1. In the menu on the left side of the page, click the Change my Password link.
  2. Enter your current password (WMMDDYY!) and then your new password two times.

    Note: Passwords are case sensitive, must be at least 8 characters, and must include at least 1 number (0-9) and one special character (! @ # $ % ^ & *). Your account is locked after six unsuccessful attempts to log in.

  3. Click the Change Password button.

Complete the Online FERPA Privacy Waiver

FERPA (The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) is a federal law protecting the confidentiality of student records. It restricts others from accessing or discussing your educational records without your consent. Through the UConn FERPA Privacy Waiver you grant specific individuals (including parents, guardians, spouses and employers) the ability to discuss specific records. All students MUST complete the UConn Online FERPA Privacy Waiver. Read the FERPA Privacy Waiver Provisions and make sure you understand the types of information the participating University offices (Registrar, Bursar, Financial Aid, Residential Life, Husky One Card Office, Community Standards) may disclose.

  1. In the menu on the left side of the page, click the Self-Service link.
  2. Click the Student Center link. The FERPA Privacy Waiver form appears.
  3. Take one the following actions:

      Indicate No Designees
      1. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the checkbox I do not wish to disclose information to any designee.
      2. Click the Save and return to Student Center button.

      Add/Edit Designees
      1. Enter the First and Last Name of the individual who can contact the University on your behalf.
      2. Assign a unique 4-character Access Code (letters, numbers or special characters, no spaces) for up to four designees. Your designee will need to provide this code when contacting the University.
      3. Select the checkbox for the type of information you wish to disclose to each designee.
      4. Click the Save and return to Student Center. button.

After completing the FERPA Privacy Waiver, the Student Center appears. Scroll down to the Personal Information section to access the FERPA Privacy Waiver link for any future modifications.


View your Financial Aid Status and Requests for Additional Information

  1. Navigate to the View Financial Aid link by clicking Self Service > Student Center.
  2. In the Financial Aid section, click the View Financial Aid link to access the Online Financial Aid Center.
